Need a steady supply of wine? Want to fulfill that desire to belong to something? Gotta have something to look forward to?

Wine clubs will satisfy those three basic needs in life.

There are many wine clubs to choose from. Some are run by wineries. Some are run by wine stores. Some are run by distributors. Some, like Cellars Wine Club are online businesses that sell wine.

Most of them will offer some great benefits for membership:

• Discounts. By buying more wine, you participate in simple bulk buying. Hence the discount.
• Variety. You can choose selections and packages by varietal, region, whatever. With some wine clubs, you can tailor make what you receive. However, some will send members a selection of the month and this is their selection and not yours. So it’s important that you join a club that offers a lot of wines that you would like. An upside to the selection of the month is sometimes discovering a new wine that you like.
• Opportunity to sample many different wines. You can and will receive wines you’ve never heard of.
• You may get to sample wines that are not available otherwise.
• They offer different levels of membership. You may buy just one bottle a month or ten. And the more you buy, the more you save and the more perks you get.
• You have the option for short memberships like 3 months. Or you can sign up for a year.

  And the longer time frame yields even deeper discounts.



• An excellent way to quickly build up a wine cellar. One couple I know belonged to six such clubs and quickly ran out of room. We had to keep going over to their house to help them make room. If you know what I mean.
• Also, if I need a wine to bring to a party, I just grab one these wines instead of stopping off at the store. Of course, they are also available for your own party. In fact, if you have enough bottles (which most dedicated club members do), you can have your own tasting or theme party based on that wine.
• Some will offer additional perks like newsletters, accessories, gifts, etc.
• They may offer other wines for sale and offer discounts to members.
• Members may get benefits like tip-offs for new releases, invitations to tastings, and merchandise discounts.
