Wine Gifts, Wine Baskets, And Other Potpourri
A birthday coming up? Are the holidays approaching? A special celebration? Or just pamper yourself. Wine gifts can really spruce up any occasion. In addition to these goodies below, check out
wine accessories
for more gift ideas. Your wine lover will appreciate it. Wine gifts for the wine lover who doesn’t quite have everything but wishes she did: - Aroma and tasting wheels. Just turn the wheel to your favorite varietal and see what kind of
aromas
and
flavors
you can expect. Or vice versa.
- Board games. Like wine (of course you do or you wouldn’t be here), friends, and games? Just pick up one of these. Two games that are fun are Wineopoly (like Monopoly) and Winerd (similar to Trivial Pursuit). Or you can play spin the bottle (of wine)!
- Bottle covers. Can’t do
blind tastings
without them. Or just close your eyes?

- Gift certificates and gift cards. Of course, if you just can’t decide and want to be flexible, these will work.
- “Message on a bottle“ personalized labels. What better way is there for saying happy birthday to a wine lover or thanking a client for business?
- Picnic kits. These are great for one or two bottles of wine, a couple of glasses, a
corkscrew,
and some napkins. Larger ones can hold plates, silverware, and a cheese cutting board. Some even have wheels like luggage. All you need is a sunny and warm day.
- T-shirts. Make a wine statement with a shirt. And boy, do they make some statements. I note a few on my
wine humor page.
- Wine bottle lamp. Some enterprising entrepreneurs put in a wick and oil into an empty wine bottle and create a lamp. Sounds like a good romantic gift for your wine lover. Just don’t confuse it with an open bottle of wine!
- Wine caddies. Good for carrying a bottle to your next party. Very decorative, you can keep a few of these on your counter and you don’t even have to keep any bottles inside them.
Wine club memberships.
Give the gift that keeps on giving. If you know that the recipient loves a particular winery or varietal, just give them a club membership. Each month she will run out when that UPS truck pulls up. - Wine coasters. Perfect for setting down your glass.
- Wine gift baskets and wine gift sets. With different themes, there are tons of wine baskets out there. With one or more bottles of wine, you can get cheese, crackers, chocolate,
glasses,
accessories,
etc.

The theme can be California wines, chardonnay, 90+ ratings, champagne, Tuscany, picnics, romance, Easter or Christmas, gourmet food, dessert, and even pizza. These can also be custom made and good for giving to business clients as well. Something for everyone. - Wine glass holders. These are plates with a slot for your wine glass. A great innovative idea to free up one hand at a wine party.
- Wine glass rack. Just as
wines need a rack,
so do the glasses.
- Wine label removers. Want to collect labels and build a scrapbook? Don’t want to steam the labels off? You can get a package of removers. Just attach to the label and peel off.
- Wine paintings and photos. Great for the walls of wine lovers. There are many beautiful paintings of vineyards or rolling hills or wine café tables. Or simple ones of glasses of wine and a cheese plate.
- Wine posters and magnets. Check out plenty of humorous wine items to put on your wall and fridge.
- Wine tasting journals. Dear wine diary: While I can take a plain notebook and write down all of my wine thoughts, an organized journal is so much better. It will be organized by the different characteristics (like aroma, color, etc.) that I want to track. And everything will be in one place including some thoughts about that cute sommelier.
- Wine tasting kits. Having a
tasting party?
Get one of these. You will get note pads, bottle markers (similar to charms), some bottle covers, and a guidebook. Just add wine and friends.
In addition to all these goodies, one of the best wine gifts is wine itself! Check out what you need to know about
buying wine.
